Sketchup Model Rustic Wood Art

Inspired by a photo I found probably on Pinterest, showing a geometric shape painted on rustic wood panel.

I thought it would make an interesting woodworking project, using half lap joints.

Thinking carefully, it would be impossible to use half lap joints unless I laminate the boards as shown in the illustration above.

I have tried to make a link to the Sketchup model, but for some reason I can't get it to work. Maybe it's just one of those days.
